GB/T 40916-2021 is the English-translated version of 液化气储运用高强度聚氨酯泡沫塑料.

GB/T 40916-2021 sets out requirements for the high-strength polyurethane foam used to insulate installations that store and carry liquefied gas. It covers terms and definitions, product categories and marking, requirements and test methods, together with inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport and storage.

It applies to foam used in land-based liquefied gas storage tanks and pipelines, in the cargo holds, tanks and pipelines of liquefied gas carriers, and in marine liquefied gas tanks.

The test methods it draws on include apparent density, compressive, tensile and shear properties, dimensional stability, water absorption, closed-cell content, thermal resistance, linear expansion below ambient temperature, vertical burning and soluble chloride and fluoride content.

Foam producers, shipyards and testing laboratories use it. It was issued on 26 November 2021 and has applied since 1 June 2022.

1 Scope

This document specifies the terms and definitions, product categories and markings, requirements, and test methods for high-strength polyurethane foam used in liquefied gas storage. Laws, inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation and storage.

This document is applicable to land-based storage tanks and pipelines for liquefied gas, cargo holds, storage tanks and pipelines of liquefied gas transport ships, and marine liquefied gas storage tanks, pipelines and pipelines. Polyurethane foam used in fields such as tanks.
