Scope

GB/T 40589-2021 is the English-translated version of 同步发电机励磁系统建模导则.

GB/T 40589-2021 is a guide to building the mathematical model of a synchronous generator excitation system for power system stability analysis and calculation.

It distinguishes the primary model supplied by the manufacturer, the measured model obtained through identification and parameter tests, and the calculating model used in stability studies, which may be identical or only similar to the measured one.

It covers the requirements on excitation equipment, identification of the regulator's link characteristics, the measured models, model selection and parameter processing, field tests with simulation checks, and the review of model parameters.

Annexes deal with limiters, voltage adjustment rate, under- and over-excitation limit models and generator saturation. It applies to steam, gas and hydraulic turbine generators, pumped storage units and nuclear and solar thermal units. It was issued on 11 October 2021 and has applied since 1 May 2022.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Primary model

Model structure and parameters derived from the information provided by the manufacturer.

3.2 Measured model

Refer to the original model for model identification and parameter measurement to obtain the model structure and parameters.

3.3 Calculating model

Model structure and parameters for stable calculation.

3.4 Identical calculating model

Consistent with the measured model structure, the calculation model structure and parameters that meet the requirements are confirmed through simulation check.

3.5 Similar calculating model

There is a certain difference between the structure of the measured model and the model used for stable calculation that basically meets the requirements after simulation by the calculation program and adjustment of the parameters. Structure and parameters.

3.6 Step test

A step change test of the set value of the controlled quantity.
