Scope

GB/T 40485-2021 is the English-translated version of 煤的镜质体随机反射率自动测定图像分析法.

GB/T 40485-2021 sets out an image analysis method for measuring automatically the random reflectance of vitrinite in coal.

It covers the principle, the instruments and test system, the materials, sample preparation, the measurement steps, the presentation of results, precision and the test report, with an informative annex giving an example of the automatic test report.

It defines the terms the method relies on, among them the microscope camera, the motorized stage, the image acquisition system and the microscopic image, alongside the coal petrology and digital camera terminology of GB/T 12937 and GB/T 20733.

The method applies to single-seam and blended bituminous coal and anthracite, and can be used as a reference for measuring the random reflectance of huminite in lignite. It was issued on 20 August 2021 and has applied since 1 March 2022.

1 Scope

This document specifies the principle, equipment, testing system, and materials for the automatic determination of the vitrinite random reflectance of coal by image analysis.

Materials, sample preparation, measurement procedures, result presentation, precision, test reports, etc.

This document is applicable to the automatic determination of the vitrinite random reflectance of bituminous coal and anthracite single-bed coal or mixed coal. Random humus of lignite The reflectance measurement can be used by reference.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions defined in GB/T 12937 and GB/T 20733 apply to this document.

3.1 Microscope camera

It is connected to the microscope through a dedicated interface, and has an image sensor that can output microscope imaging digital signals.

A camera connected to a computer to record this signal on a storage medium.

Note: Storage media refers to memory cards or disks, etc.

3.2 Motorized stage

The microscope stage that automatically moves along the X, Y, and Z directions is controlled by a computer program.

3.3 Image acquisition system

Automatic stage, image acquisition device and its driving software.

3.4 Microscopic image

A digital image taken by imaging the sample under the microscope with a microscope camera.
