Scope
GB/T 40420.2-2021 is the English-translated version of 基于公用电信网的宽带客户网关虚拟化 第2部分：语音虚拟化技术要求.
GB/T 40420.2-2021 is Part 2 of the Chinese national series on virtualizing the broadband customer gateway over public telecommunication networks, and it deals with the voice service.
It sets the architecture of the virtualized voice function and its functional division, the voice function requirements of the physical gateway (PG) for call processing, voice processing and service quality, and the voice processing performance of the OLT, including codec switching time and the voice service control protocol channel.
It also covers the management protocol, the voice service flows and an interface protocol made of messages such as heartbeat, port activation, off-hook, on-hook, dialling, ringing, fax event, caller ID and SDP.
It draws on ITU-T G.711, G.729 and T.38 and IETF RFC 2833. It was issued on 11 October 2021 and has applied since 1 May 2022.

1 Scope
This part of GB/T 40420 specifies the overall technical requirements for virtualized broadband customer gateway voice services and the technical requirements for related equipment.
Requirements, including voice function implementation architecture, voice function requirements, voice processing performance requirements, management protocols, business processes, and interface protocol requirements.
This part is applicable to the virtualization of broadband customer gateway voice functions.
