GB/T 40417-2021 is the English-translated version of 电子特气六氟丁二烯.

GB/T 40417-2021 is the Chinese national specification for 1,3-hexafluorobutadiene (C4F6) sold as an electronic specialty gas. It applies to the electronic grade product obtained by purifying industrial hexafluorobutadiene, and sets out its technical requirements, inspection rules, test methods, marking, packaging, transportation and storage.

The requirements table fixes the minimum purity by mass fraction and the maximum oxygen plus argon content, and the analyses draw on trace moisture determination by the electrolysis method and helium ionization gas chromatography.

Filling, cylinders and labelling are tied to the Chinese rules for liquefied gas cylinders, steel welded cylinders, cylinder colour marks and warning labels. Gas producers, users of electronic gases and inspection laboratories use it for supply and acceptance. It was issued on 20 August 2021 and has applied since 1 March 2022.

This document specifies the technical requirements, inspection rules, test methods, marking, packaging, transportation and storage requirements of hexafluorobutadiene.

This document applies to electronic grade hexafluorobutadiene prepared by purification of industrial hexafluorobutadiene.
