GB/T 40372-2021 is the English-translated version of 消毒剂灌装生产线通用技术条件.
China's national general technical specification for disinfectant packaging lines. It specifies the terms and definitions, the model, the type, the composition and the basic parameters. A packaging line for disinfectant is a filling and capping line with a specific difficulty: the product attacks the machine. Sodium hypochlorite, peracetic acid, quaternary ammonium compounds and alcohol are variously corrosive, oxidising and flammable, and the pumps, valves, seals and filling nozzles that handle them have to be selected for the chemistry rather than taken from a general catalogue. Alcohol-based products add an explosion hazard that changes the electrical specification of the whole room. The standard was published in 2021, which places it after a period in which disinfectant production capacity in China expanded faster than the equipment industry serving it, and a specification defining what such a line must be was a practical necessity rather than an administrative one.
