Scope
GB/T 40238-2021 is the English-translated version of 建筑材料及制品燃烧试验 基材选取、试样状态调节和安装要求.
GB/T 40238-2021 sets general rules for preparing building materials and products for reaction-to-fire testing: how specimens are conditioned, which standard substrates are used and how specimens are mounted.
Conditioning covers the general requirements, reaching constant mass and the curing period, and applies to fire tests of building materials and products in general.
Substrate selection distinguishes floorings from wall and ceiling finishing products, and the mounting rules are given separately for the single burning item test of GB/T 20284, the flammability test of GB/T 8626 and the radiant heat test for floorings of GB/T 11785.

1 Scope
This document specifies the base material selection, sample condition adjustment and installation requirements for the combustion test of building materials and products.
The state adjustment specified in this document is applicable to the combustion test of building materials and products; the method of base material selection and sample installation is applicable to Building materials and products tested in GB/T 20284, GB/T 11785 and GB/T 8626 and classified according to GB 8624-2012.

3.1 Building product

3.2 Material

3.3 Assembly

3.4 Homogenous product
