GB/T 40154-2021 is the English-translated version of 饲料原料 棉籽蛋白.
GB/T 40154-2021 is the Chinese national product standard for cottonseed protein used as a feed material. It covers cottonseed protein and dephenolized, or detoxified, cottonseed protein produced from cottonseed or cottonseed meal with a crude protein content of more than 50%.
The technical requirements start with appearance, light yellow to light brown small fragments or powder with no insects, mould, caking or off odour, and forbid mixing in any material other than cottonseed protein, before setting quality grade indicators.
The standard also covers sampling, test methods, inspection rules, labelling, packaging, transport and storage, with references to methods such as crude protein by the Kjeldahl method, free gossypol and amino acids in feed. It was issued on 21 May 2021 and has applied since 1 December 2021.

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements, sampling, test methods, inspection rules, labeling, packaging, transportation and storage of cottonseed protein as a feed ingredient.
This standard is applicable to the feed material cottonseed protein and dephenolized (detoxified) cottonseed protein with crude protein content of more than 50% produced from cottonseed or cottonseed meal.

3 Technical requirements
3.1 Appearance and traits
Light yellow to light brown small fragments or powder, allowing a small amount of dark brown particles (cotton shell), no insects, mildew, agglomeration, peculiar smell and smell.
3.2 Inclusions
It is not allowed to mix materials other than cottonseed protein as a feed material.
