Scope

GB/T 40128-2021 is the English-translated version of 表面化学分析 原子力显微术 二硫化钼片层材料厚度测量方法.

GB/T 40128-2021 describes how to measure the thickness of layered molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) nanosheets with an atomic force microscope. It applies to nanosheets transferred to or grown on the surface of a solid substrate and no more than 100 nm thick, and the method may also serve as a reference for other similar nanosheet materials.

The document defines the terms it uses, such as nanoscale, nanomaterial and nano-object, and then gives an overview of the method, the equipment, reagents and materials, sample preparation, the measurement steps and the measurement report.

Informative annexes explain how layered MoS2 nanosheets are prepared and characterised, work through examples of thickness measurement and propose a report format. It was issued on 21 May 2021 and has applied since 1 December 2021.

Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting.

1 Scope

This document specifies a method for measuring the thickness of layered molybdenum disulfide nanosheets using atomic force microscopy.

This document is suitable for the measurement of the thickness of layered molybdenum disulfide nanosheets transferred or grown on the surface of a solid substrate.

The thickness of molybdenum sulfide nanosheets is no more than 100nm, and the thickness measurement of other similar nanosheet materials can also refer to this method.

2 Normative references

The contents of the following documents constitute the indispensable clauses of this document through normative references in the text. Among them, dated quotations Only the version corresponding to that date is applicable to this document; for undated reference documents, the latest version (including all amendments) is applicable to this document.

3 Terms and definitions

GB/T 32269, GB/T 30544.1, GB/T 30544.6 and GB/T 30544.13 and the following terms and definitions apply In this document.

3.1 Nanoscale

It is in the size range between 1nm and 100nm.

Note 1. This size range usually, but not exclusively, exhibits characteristics that cannot be extrapolated from larger sizes. For these characteristics, the upper and lower limits of the scale Is approximate.

Note 2. The purpose of introducing a lower limit (about 1nm) in this definition is to avoid considering a single atom or cluster of atoms as a nano-object or a nano-structure unit. [Source: GB/T 32269-2015, 2.1]

3.2 Nanomaterial

Any material whose external dimension, internal or surface structure is at the nanometer scale. [Source: GB/T 30544.1-2014, 2.4, with modification]

3.3 Nano-object

One-dimensional, two-dimensional, or three-dimensional objects whose outer dimensions are on the nanoscale

Note: A general term used for all nano-scale objects that are separated from each other. [Source: GB/T 32269-2015, 2.2]
