Scope
GB/T 39924-2021 is the English-translated version of 旋转式喷头节水评价技术要求.
GB/T 39924-2021 sets the technical requirements and test methods used to judge whether a rotary sprinkler for irrigation qualifies as water-saving. It applies to all types of rotary sprinklers used in irrigation and adopts the terms of GB/T 19795.1.
As a basic condition the sprinkler has to meet GB/T 19795.1 for materials, structure, interface thread, bearing performance, pressure resistance at normal and high temperature, nozzle interface sealing, water distribution, spray height, working pressure range and durability.
On top of that it limits the leakage at the rotating bearing according to nominal flow, from 0.004 m³/h for sprinklers up to 0.25 m³/h to 0.4% of the nozzle flow above 30 m³/h.
Sprinkler makers and test laboratories use it for water-saving evaluation. It was issued on 9 March 2021 and has applied since 1 October 2021.

1 Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements and test methods for water-saving evaluation of rotary sprinklers.
This standard is applicable to the water-saving evaluation of various types of rotary sprinklers for irrigation.

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 19795.1 apply to this document.
4 Technical requirements
4.1 Basic requirements
The material, structure and process, interface thread, performance requirements (including working pressure and driving mechanism) of the water-saving rotary nozzle are suitable for Nozzle with one or more nozzles), structure and parts, interface thread bearing performance, normal temperature pressure resistance, high temperature pressure resistance, nozzle interface sealing, The water distribution characteristics, spray height, working pressure range and durability shall meet the requirements of GB/T 19795.1.
4.2 Nozzle tightness
The sealing performance of the water-saving rotary sprinkler should meet the requirements of Table 1.
Leakage at the rotating bearing (Nominal flow Q<=0.25m³/h): <=0.004m³/h
The leakage at the rotating bearing is relative to the nozzle flow rate under the test pressure (0.25m³/h< nominal flow Q<=5.0m³/h): <=1.5%
The leakage at the rotating bearing is relative to the nozzle flow rate under the test pressure (5.0m³/h< nominal flow Q<=30m³/h): <=0.8%
The leakage at the rotating bearing is relative to the nozzle flow rate under the test pressure (Nominal flow Q >30m³/h): <=0.4%
