Scope

GB/T 3884.21-2018 is the English-translated version of 铜精矿化学分析方法 第21部分:铜、硫、铅、锌、铁、铝、钙、镁、锰量的测定 波长色散X射线荧光光谱法.

GB/T 3884.21-2018 is Part 21 of the Chinese national methods for the chemical analysis of copper concentrates. It determines nine elements - copper, sulfur, lead, zinc, iron, aluminium, calcium, magnesium and manganese - by wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry.

The sample is treated with sodium carbonate and lithium nitrate so that low-valence elements are oxidised to their higher valence, and is then mixed with tetraboric acid at a set dilution ratio before measurement.

The part gives the working range of each element as a mass fraction, from 5.50 to 40.00 for copper and 7.00 to 47.00 for sulfur down to 0.025 to 0.55 for manganese, and refers to GB/T 14263 for sampling and to GB/T 16597 for the general rules of X-ray fluorescence analysis. It was issued on 17 September 2018 and has applied since 1 June 2019.
