GB/T 3884.7-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering lead and zinc at percent level rather than trace level — the dissolution in ammonium fluoride and mixed acids, the removal of arsenic, antimony and tin with hydrobromic acid, the precipitation of lead as the sulfate to separate it, the ammonia precipitation that takes out iron and manganese, the titration with Na2EDTA against xylenol orange, and the cadmium that must be subtracted because it titrates with the zinc. Part 7 of the series. It replaces GB/T 3884.7-2012, under the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association. In force from 1 March 2026. Issued on 29 August 2025, it has been in force since 1 March 2026, replacing GB/T 3884.7-2012.

1 Scope
This document describes a method for determining the lead and zinc content in copper concentrate and copper slag concentrate using Na2EDTA titration.
This document applies to the determination of lead and zinc content in copper concentrate and copper slag concentrate. The determination range (mass fraction) is. wPb 5.00%~ 20.00%; wZn 2.50%~20.00%.
This document does not apply to copper concentrates and copper slag concentrates with a nickel mass fraction greater than 0.10% or a cobalt mass fraction greater than 0.02% and a zinc content of … Measurement.

4 Principles
The sample was dissolved in ammonium fluoride, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, sulfuric acid, and perchloric acid. Interfering elements such as arsenic, antimony, and tin were removed using hydrobromic acid. Lead was precipitated with lead sulfate.
The precipitate was separated from other interfering elements, dissolved in an acetate-sodium acetate buffer solution, and labeled with Na2EDTA using xylenol orange as an indicator.
The amount of lead was determined by titration with a standard titration solution.
The filtrate obtained after filtration was precipitated with ammonia to separate interfering elements such as iron and manganese, and a masking agent was added to eliminate interference from copper, aluminum, etc. The solution was then buffered in an acetate-sodium acetate buffer.
In the solution, using xylenol orange as an indicator, titration was performed with Na2EDTA standard titration solution. The result was the total zinc and cadmium content; subtracting the cadmium content yielded the final value. Amount of zinc.
