Scope

GB/T 3883.402-2023 is the English-translated version of 手持式、可移式电动工具和园林工具的安全 第402部分:修枝剪的专用要求.

GB/T 3883.402-2023 is Part 402 of the Chinese safety series for hand-held, transportable and garden tools, and gives the particular requirements for hedge trimmers. A hedge trimmer is an exposed reciprocating blade held at arm's length, often above head height, by an untrained user on a ladder, with the supply cord or the battery pack in the cutting path; the safety of the tool therefore rests on the two-hand control, the blade brake that must stop the blades within a specified time, the guard at the far end and the hand protection. The standard follows the clause structure of the general standard, setting the particular requirements for marking and instructions, protection against access to live parts, starting, input and current, heating, leakage current and electric strength, moisture resistance, corrosion resistance, transformer overload protection, endurance, abnormal operation, mechanical hazards, mechanical strength, construction, internal wiring, components, supply connection and external cords, terminals, earthing, screws and connections, creepage distances and clearances, and resistance to heat and fire. It took effect on 1 April 2024.

1 Scope

Except for the following provisions, this chapter of GB/T 3883.1-2014 applies. Increase. This document applies to pruning shears used by one person for trimming hedges and shrubs, including extension pruners with a maximum length of not more than 3.5m. Pruners.
