Scope
GB/T 38334-2019 is the English-translated version of 水电站黑启动技术规范.
GB/T 38334-2019 specifies the general rules, the basic technical conditions, the black-start tests, the black-start procedures and the emergency treatment for the black start of hydropower stations.
Clause 1 states that it applies to hydropower stations with black start capability, and writes no exclusion.
The contents list runs from clause 4, General, through clause 5, Basic technical conditions, which is split into Class A black start and Class B black start, clause 6, Black start test, which covers general requirements, the equipment system test, the black start power test, the phased test, the overall test and black start mode identification, and clause 7, Black start procedures and emergency response.
Five appendices follow, on a typical black start load statistics table, the tests to be performed during black start, the calculation of battery discharge time, a black start overall test data record and an example of a black-start procedure; only the second of them is marked normative.
Clause 3 defines six terms, among them the black-start power supply, the Class A and Class B black-start modes and the black start of a hydropower station, the Class A mode using only the electric energy stored in the DC battery and the hydraulic energy stored in the hydraulic system to restore the working power of the plant.
Clause 2 cites GB/T 2820.5, GB/T 9652.2, DL/T 583, DL/T 724 and NB/T 35044. The foreword states that the standard is proposed and managed by the China Electric Power Enterprise Federation. It was issued on 2019-12-10 and has applied since 2020-07-01.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the general rules, basic technical conditions, black-start tests, black-start procedures, and emergency treatment of hydropower stations.
This standard applies to hydropower stations with black start capability.
2 Normative references
The following documents are essential for the application of this document. For dated references, only the dated version applies to this document. For undated references, the latest version (including all amendments) applies to this document.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Factory electricity working power supply (normal service power supply)
The power supply for the power plant to ensure the normal operation of the main and auxiliary equipment during the production process.
3.2 Factory power backup power (standby service power supply)
After the working power of the plant power is withdrawn, ensure that the main and auxiliary equipment continue to operate normally during the production process of the power plant.
3.3 Black-start power supply
When the working power and standby power of the plant power disappear, other power sources independent of the grid are used to start the unit and its auxiliary equipment.
3.4 Class A black-start mode
Only the electric energy stored in the DC battery and the hydraulic energy stored in the hydraulic system are used to restore the working power of the plant.
3.5 Class B black-start mode
Utilize the electrical energy stored in the black start power supply and the DC battery and the hydraulic energy stored in the hydraulic system to restore the way.
3.6 Black-start of hydropower station
When the hydropower station loses the power supply and standby power for the plant power, the black power is used to restore the power supply for the plant power and the operation of the unit equipment. OK process.
