Scope
GB/T 38054-2019 is the English-translated version of 海洋铺管船用聚氨酯张紧器垫块.
GB/T 38054-2019 fixes the classification, marking, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and the marking, packaging, transport and storage provisions for the polyurethane tensioner pads of offshore pipelay vessels.
Clause 1 applies it to the polyurethane tensioner pads of S-type pipelay vessels and adds that the tensioner pads of J-type pipelay vessels and of cable laying ships may follow it by reference.
Clause 3 divides the pads by use into the two classes of Table 1, a wear-resistant class S-I for duties such as cement coated pipe and umbilical cable and a non-slip class S-II for uncoated pipe and PP or PE coated pipe, and describes the pad as a metal base plate carrying a polyurethane layer, as shown in Figures 1 and 2.
The normative references are largely rubber test methods, including GB/T 528 for tensile stress-strain properties, GB/T 529 for tear strength, GB/T 1681 for rebound resilience, GB/T 1689 for abrasion resistance on an Akron machine, GB/T 3512 for hot air accelerated ageing, GB/T 15254 for the 180-degree peel test of rubber bonded to metal and HG/T 2729-2012 for the coefficient of friction, alongside GB/T 1804-2000 and GB/T 3672.1-2002 on tolerances, GB/T 5721 on the marking, packaging, transport and storage of rubber sealing products, and HG/T 4077-2009 on anti-corrosion coating.
The standard was proposed by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation and is under the jurisdiction of the National Rubber and Rubber Products Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC35); its drafters are rubber and plastics manufacturers together with Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd. and engineering and transmission firms.
It carries ICS code 83.140.99 and Chinese classification G47, was issued on 18 October 2019 and has applied since 1 September 2020.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification, marking, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marking, packaging, transportation and storage for polyurethane pipe tensioner blocks (hereinafter referred to as blocks) for marine pipe laying vessels.
This standard applies to S-type marine pipelaying polyurethane tensioner blocks. Tensioner pad blocks of J type marine pipe laying vessels and marine cable laying ships can be referenced for execution.
2 Normative references

3 Classification and structure
3.1 Classification
According to the use, it can be divided into two categories, as shown in Table 1.
Table 1 Classification and code (type, code, typical use):
Wear-resistant, S-I: cement coated pipe, umbilical cable, etc.
Non-slip, S-II: uncoated tube, PP/PE coated tube, etc.
3.2 Schematic diagram
The spacer is composed of a metal base plate and a polyurethane layer, and the structure is schematically shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2.
