1 Scope
This standard stipulates the general provisions for traffic safety evaluation of suburban trunk roads, as well as traffic safety during the stages of design, delivery acceptance, and operation.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Suburbanarterialroad
The main roads that have both road and urban road functions, including primary roads, secondary roads, urban expressways, trunk roads, and secondary trunks.

3.2 Traffic safety evaluation
Predict or evaluate the inherent or potential hazards of the transportation system, centered on road user safety.
4 General regulations
4.1
Traffic safety assessment of suburban trunk roads should analyze potential problems affecting traffic safety from road conditions, traffic facilities, traffic organization, etc.
Promote the improvement of traffic safety conditions.
4.2
The traffic safety evaluation of the urban trunk roads is carried out according to the process shown in Appendix A.
4.3
The traffic safety assessment of suburban trunk roads should cover but not be limited to the contents of Appendix B.
