3 Coal terminology
3.1 Coal and its product terms
3.1.1
coal coal
coal
Carbon-rich solid combustible organic sedimentary rock mainly transformed from plant remains through coalification, containing a certain amount of minerals, corresponding to
The ash yield is less than or equal to 50% (dry basis mass fraction).
Note 1.Usually in the process of geological coalification, when the total water content drops to 75% (mass fraction), the peat is converted into coal; while in the normal coalification process, there is no interference
The upper limit of the conversion of coal seam to half graphite is that the average random reflectance Rran of vitrinite is 6.0%, or, the average maximum reflectivity Rmax of vitrinite is
8.0% is better for its upper limit. For climacteric contact metamorphic coal seams, the upper limit of Rmax can exceed 10%. See ISO 11760 for the above notes.
Note 2.At present, the upper limit of coal ash content used in the calculation of coal reserves in China is 40%.
