Scope

GB/T 36931-2018 is the English-translated version of 工业洗涤机械术语.

GB/T 36931-2018 defines the terms used for industrial laundry machinery, the machines that wash, extract, dry and iron fabrics in laundries, hotels, hospitals and similar places.

It applies to industrial and commercial laundry machinery, but not to special finishing machines of the garment industry or to household and similar electrical appliances. It was issued on 28 December 2018 and has applied since 1 July 2019.

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

1 Scope

This standard defines the terms and definitions of industrial washing machines.

This standard applies to industrial/commercial washing machines.

This standard does not apply to special finishing machines in the garment industry, nor to household and similar electrical appliances.

2 General terminology

2.1 Industrial washing machinery

Industrial laundry facilities are machines used for cleaning, deliquoring, drying and ironing of formed and unformed fabrics. Example:

Industrial/commercial washing machines, dryers, ironing machines, folding machines, dry cleaning machines, ironing setting machines, tunnel washing machines, linen conveying systems, carpet washing machines, washing Clothing room equipment and auxiliary equipment.

Note 1. Includes machinery for laundry, hotels, hospitals, nursing homes, prisons, printing and dyeing plants, and the like.

2.2 Public textiles

In public places, textiles are reused by different people. [GB/T 28459-2012, definition 3.1]

2.3 Linen

A general term for public textiles (2.2) and medical textiles washed in the laundry room.

2.4 Linen life cycle

The number of washings in the case of normal washing, finishing and storage of linen (2.3), such as breakage, thinning, discoloration, and softness reduction.

2.5 Infected material

Materials that have been in contact with people with infectious diseases or suspected infectious diseases. [GB 25115.2-2010, definition 3.7]

2.6 Polluted hospital materials

Materials that may be soiled or contaminated but not contagious in hospital wards, nursing homes, and operating rooms. [GB 25115.3-2010, definition 3.9]

2.7 Completely dry fabric

After several drying procedures, the adjacent secondary water content has no continuous change (not more than 0.5%) and is approximately water-free at intervals of 5 minutes.
