1 Scope

GB 48062 sets the common safety requirements for industrial laundry machinery, the washer-extractors, tunnel washers, dryers and ironers used in hospital, hotel and commercial laundries. The hazards are the ones that maim: a drum at extraction speed behind a defeated door interlock, a heated roller ironer that draws a hand in with the sheet, chemical dosing lines under pressure, machines large enough to walk into. The document works through them one by one - mechanical, electrical, thermal, noise, materials and substances, ergonomics, energy supply and control, maintenance - with a matching test clause for each, then the information the manufacturer has to supply and a normative annex on verifying conformity. Being a GB standard without the /T suffix, compliance is compulsory in China. It takes effect on 1 February 2028.
