Scope

GB/T 36872-2018 is the English-translated version of 结构用集成材生产技术规程.

GB/T 36872-2018 is the Chinese national code for the factory production of glued laminated timber for structural use.

It sets the requirements for personnel, production conditions and equipment, then follows manufacturing from the sawn timber, with tree species, moisture content, grading and laminates, through adhesives, layer configuration and finger jointing, to surface processing, lay-up, glue spreading, pressing and curing.

It also deals with curved glulam, glulam for special structures, finishing, wood inserts, packaging and transport. Quality control covers initial, full and sampling inspection, with bending, tensile, shear, delamination and boil peeling tests and a formaldehyde emission test, and the production record to keep.

It applies to the production process and quality control of structural glulam, was issued on 17 September 2018 and has applied since 1 April 2019.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, manufacturing and quality control of the technical specifications for the production of laminated timber for structural use.

This standard applies to the production process and quality control of structural integrated materials.

2 Normative references

The following documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only dated versions apply to this document. For undated references, the latest edition (including all amendments) applies to this document.

3 Terms and definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 26899-2011 apply to this document.

4 Requirements

4.1 Personnel requirements

A quality control system certified by a third-party authorized certification body shall be established; production personnel shall strictly implement an eight-hour work system. And implement the relevant requirements of the quality control system; the production products should be tested online, offline, and daily quality control records, and at least Archived for ten years.

4.2 Basic conditions

4.2.1 The minimum temperature in the production area is 15 °C. Higher temperatures are required during gluing (see 5.5.7), but this requirement may be limited Specific area of the precondition (gluing chamber).

4.2.2 Relative humidity. The relative humidity of the air during production should be 30%~75%.

4.2.3 Drying and storage facilities meet the moisture and temperature requirements of wood.

4.2.4 When using pre-dried wood, the storage facility shall maintain the moisture content required by the wood.

4.2.5 Unless the adhesive is directly from the storage tank and is automatically mixed during the gluing process, the mixing chamber should be separately set and adjusted. Prepare adhesive and curing agent storage facilities and keep the equipment area clean and free of debris.

4.2.6 The use of adhesives and curing agents should be based on the principle of "first in, first out".

4.3 Equipment conditions

4.3.1 Automatic recorder for continuous monitoring of temperature and humidity in warehouses, production areas and glue zones.

4.3.2 Wood moisture content inspection (calibration) measuring instrument

4.3.3 Mechanical and visual grading equipment

4.3.4 Finger pointing equipment

4.3.5 Laminate thickness measuring instrument […]
