GB/T 38071-2019 is the Chinese national standard for structural laminated bamboo made from bamboo curtains, the engineered timber used as a load-bearing material.
It gives the terms and definitions, the requirements for the product - appearance, dimensions and their tolerances, moisture content, bonding and mechanical properties - the test methods taken from the wood-based panel standards, the inspection rules with the sampling plan of GB/T 2828.1, and the provisions on marking, packaging, transport and storage.
It applies to laminated timber whose basic unit is the bamboo curtain, hot-pressed into a structural member. Producers, designers and inspection bodies use it to accept a batch. Issued on 18 October 2019, it has applied since 1 May 2020.

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and identification, packaging, transportation, and Storage, etc.
This standard is applicable to laminated timber for structural processing made of bamboo curtains as the basic unit.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions as defined in GB/T 36394 apply to this document.
3.1 Structural laminated bamboo sliver curtain lumber
The bamboo quilt is used as the basic unit, which is mainly formed by the hot pressing of the striated laminated body and used for the load-bearing structure.
3.2 Bamboo curtain
The curtains of the bamboo rafts are arranged in parallel.
4 Requirements
4.1 General requirements
4.1.1 Bamboo raft
The thickness is usually from 0.8 mm to 2.0 mm, and the width is usually from 5.0 mm to 25.0 mm.
4.1.2 Adhesive
It is preferable to use a type I structural adhesive such as a phenol resin.
4.1.3 Group blank
It is mainly used to laminate the blanks in the direction of the grain; if necessary, the transverse bundling can be increased, but not more than 15% of the total.
