Scope
GB/T 36798-2018 is the English-translated version of 浸胶线绳、帘线、纱线直径和定长度重量试验方法.
GB/T 36798-2018 sets out how to measure the diameter and the fixed-length weight of dipped cords and yarns used as reinforcing materials in rubber products. The diameter is measured on a set of samples with a platen or laser diameter tester and reported in millimetres as the mean value.
The fixed-length weight is found by cutting samples of a set length with the specified preparation device, weighing them on an analytical balance and expressing the result in grams per 100 metres.
The standard also defines the test environment: two alternative conditions of temperature and relative humidity, Environment A and Environment B, chosen according to the product standard and recorded in the test report.
Terms follow GB/T 32110. It was issued on 17 September 2018 and has applied since 1 April 2019.

1 Scope
This standard specifies the test environment and test method for the determination of the diameter of the dipped cord, the dipped cord, the dipped yarn diameter and the fixed length.
This standard applies to the determination of dipping cord, dipping cord, dip yarn diameter and fixed length weight.

3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 32110 apply to this document.
4 Test principle
4.1 Diameter
Use a platen or laser diameter tester to measure the diameter of the sample, record the test value separately, and calculate the total value of all the samples.
The mean value is the diameter of the sample in millimeters (mm).
4.2 Fixed length weight
Prepare a sample of a certain length using the specified sample preparation device, weigh the sample on the analytical balance, and specify all the samples in the specified quantity.
The ratio of the arithmetic mean of the weight to the length of the prepared sample is the fixed length weight of the sample in grams per 100 meters (g/100 m).
5 Test environment
5.1 Overview
The test shall be carried out in an environment of suitable temperature and relative humidity. The test environment is characterized by temperature, relative humidity and deviation (%). The unit of measure of temperature is Celsius (°C).
According to the requirements of the product standard, choose any one of Environment A and Environment B. Each choice depends on the general habits of the industry.
