GB/T 36763-2018 is the English-translated version of 电磁屏蔽用硫化橡胶通用技术要求.

GB/T 36763-2018 is the Chinese national standard for vulcanized rubber used for electromagnetic shielding, made from silicone or fluorosilicone rubber filled with conductive materials.

It covers the classification and naming of these elastomers by type, characteristics and conductive filler, their technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and packaging, marking, transport and storage.

Two normative annexes describe how to measure shielding effectiveness in a shielded room through 0.6 m and 0.3 m windows with antennas for each frequency band, and how to test volume resistivity with an electrode device.

Physical properties such as tensile behaviour, hardness, density, low-temperature brittleness, heat ageing and compression set are tested to existing rubber standards.

It is used by makers and users of these shielding materials. The standard was issued on 17 September 2018 and has applied since 1 April 2019.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification, use characteristics and naming, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, transportation and storage of vulcanized rubber for electromagnetic shielding.

This standard is applicable to the electromagnetic shielding vulcanized rubber which is made of silicone rubber and fluorosilicone rubber as the base material and mixed with various conductive materials.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions as defined in GB/T 26667-2011 apply to this document. For ease of use, the following is repeated Certain terms and definitions in GB/T 26667-2011.

3.1 Electromagnetic shielding

Use conductive or magnetically permeable materials to reduce or block the propagation of electromagnetic fields to specified areas. [GB/T 26667-2011, definition 2.1.6]

3.2 Shielding effectiveness; SE

The ratio of the power or field strength received without shielding material to the power or field strength received with shielding material at the same excitation level, Expressed in logarithms.

3.3 Volume resistivity

The ratio of the DC electric field strength to the steady state current density within the material, ie the volume resistance per unit volume. [GB/T 26667-2011, definition 2.1.9]

Note: The unit of volume resistivity is expressed in ohm centimeters (ohm·cm).
