Scope
GB/T 36743-2018 is the English-translated version of 森林火险气象等级.
GB/T 36743-2018 sets out how the weather-related danger of forest fires is graded in China. It specifies how the forest fire danger weather rating is determined and the method used to calculate it from observed weather conditions.
The quantities on which the calculation rests are defined: wind speed, precipitation, air temperature at 1.5 m above the ground, relative humidity, snow depth and the meteorological drought grade, which refers to GB/T 20481-2017.
Meteorological services use it to monitor and forecast the weather conditions that favour forest fires and to provide fire danger services based on them. It was issued on 17 September 2018 and has applied since 1 April 2019.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the determination of the forest fire risk meteorological grade and its calculation method.
This standard applies to the monitoring, forecasting and service of meteorological conditions for forest fire danger.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Wind speed
Generally refers to the horizontal distance of air movement within 10m unit time from the ground, in meters per second (m/s). [GB/T 20487-2006, definition 2.1.5]
3.2 Precipitation
The depth of precipitation that has not evaporated, infiltrated, or lost during a certain period of time, accumulated in the horizontal plane, in millimeters (mm). [GB/T 20487-2006, definition 2.1.10]
3.3 Air temperature
The temperature of the air at a height of 1.5 m above the ground in the standard observation environment louver is measured in degrees Celsius (°C). [GB/T 20487-2006, definition 2.1.1]
3.4 Relative humidity
The ratio of the actual vapor pressure in the air to the saturated vapor pressure at that temperature reflects the degree of air from saturated air in percent (%) Said. [GB/T 20487-2006, definition 2.1.3]
3.5 Snow depth
The vertical depth from the snow surface to the ground. [QX/T 53-2007, Definition 3.1]
