Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the use of scanning electron microscopy to observe the microscopic morphology of chemical fibers and test the fiber diameter method.

This standard is applicable to the determination of the microscopic morphology and diameter of various chemical fibers and their products. The determination of the diameter is only applicable to the fiber transverse chemical fibers with a circular or nearly circular cross section, other materials may be implemented in accordance with this standard.

4 Principle

Scanning electron microscopy focused, electron beam with a certain energy is scanned on the surface of the fiber sample to excite it from the surface of the sample secondary electrons, after the secondary electrons are collected and processed, a scanned image of the surface topography of the sample can be obtained, and the microscopic morphology of the sample can be observed.

The diameter of the fiber was measured by measuring the distance between the two edges of the longitudinal side of the individual fibers on the image.

5 Instruments, tools and materials

Instruments, tools and materials include.

a) Scanned electron microscope that has been calibrated or calibrated. the resolution of the secondary electronic image is better than 20 nm, and the magnification is at least 30 times~ 20000 times;

b) vacuum spray or sputter;

c) Hastelloy slicers or other types of fiber cutters;

d) scorpions, scissors, ear balls;

e) copper or aluminum sample holders;
