Scope
GB/T 36377-2018 is the English-translated version of 计量器具识别编码.
GB/T 36377-2018 sets the coding rules and implementation methods for the identification code of measuring instruments.
The code is made up of a header, a measuring instrument category code, a code for the encoding body, a serial code and extension information, and is used to collect and exchange basic and extended information on each instrument, such as its manufacture, use, metrological characteristics and management.
The standard applies to measuring instruments under legal control in China, such as those on the type approval list and the compulsory list of working measuring instruments.
Its normative references include the administrative division code, the unified social credit code, the QR code and Code 128 bar code standards and the ISO/IEC 18000-61, -62 and -63 RFID air interfaces. It was issued on 7 June 2018 and has applied since 1 January 2019.

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the coding rules and implementation methods for the identification code of measuring instruments.
This standard applies to the list of measuring instruments that are legally managed by the People's Republic of China (type approval part). Measuring instruments such as the compulsory list of work measuring instruments.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions defined in GB/T 10113 and JJF1001 apply to this document.
3.1 Measuring instrument identification code
Identifying the code of the measuring instrument, including the field header, the measuring instrument category code, the measuring instrument encoding body code, and the measuring instrument serial code And the identification code extension information component is used for identifying the collection and exchange of the basic information of the measuring instrument and the extended information.
3.2 Measuring instrument extension information; EIMI
Identify the manufacturing, use, metering characteristics, and management related information of the measuring instrument.
