Scope

GB/T 35909-2018 is the English-translated version of 猪肺炎支原体PCR检测方法.

GB/T 35909-2018 sets out a PCR method for detecting Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, the main pathogen of mycoplasmal pneumonia of swine, also known as swine asthma.

It is intended for the rapid detection of the organism's nucleic acid in laboratory clinical samples from pigs, such as nasal swabs, lung tissue and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid, and in bacterial cultures.

The standard relies on GB 19489 for laboratory biosafety, GB/T 27401 for laboratory quality control and GB/T 6682 for laboratory water. It defines the pathogen and the abbreviations used in the method, among them PCR, the PBS, TAE and TBE buffers, Taq DNA polymerase, dNTPs and the colour change unit (CCU).

It is a working method for veterinary diagnostic laboratories. It was issued on 6 February 2018 and has applied since 1 September 2018.
