For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 35789.1-2017 and the following apply.

3.1 read-write equipment

electronic device for reading or writing data on electronic identification of motor vehicles based on ultrahigh-frequency radiofrequency identification technology, which is composed of read-write unit, antenna unit, feeder unit etc.

3.1.1 read-write unit

component in read-write equipment for realizing data reading or writing function

3.1.2 antenna unit

component in read-write equipment for radiating the electrical output signal of read-write unit out in the form of electromagnetic wave or converting the electromagnetic wave into electric input signal of read-write unit

3.1.3 feeder unit

cable in read-write equipment for connecting read-write unit and antenna unit

3.2 identifying

process of read-write equipment identifying electronic identification of motor vehicles and establishing communication link with it

3.3 reading

process of read-write equipment reading information from electronic identification of motor vehicles

3.4 writing

process of read-write equipment writing information into electronic identification of motor vehicles

4 Classification and Naming

4.1 Classification

4.1.1 Based on installation mode

Read-write equipment is classified into stationary, handheld and desktop equipment based on installation mode. Stationary read-write equipment is classified into split and integrated read-write equipment.

4.1.2 Based on temperature-resistance grade

Read-write equipment is classified into Classes A, B, C and D based on temperature-resistance grade; where, the applicable environment temperature range for Classes A, B, C and D are -40°C~65°C, -20°C~75°C, -10°C~50°C and -40°C~75°C respectively.

4.1.3 Based on identified object speed

Read-write equipment is classified into low-speed read-write equipment (Category I) and high-speed read-write equipment (Category II) based on the running speed of identified motor vehicles, Category I is the stationary, desktop and handheld read-write equipment for identifying motor vehicle with running speed less than or equal to 80km/h; Category II is the stationary read-write equipment for identifying motor vehicle with running speed less than or equal to 200km/h.
