3 Terms and definitions

GB/T 35221, GB/T 35225, QX/T 8 and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Windforce

Wind strength.

Meteorological use Beaufort scale said.

3.2 Instantaneous windspeed

Wind speed at some point

Note. In automatic meteorological observation, it refers to the average of the wind speed in the first 3s at a certain moment.

3.3 Instantaneous wind direction

Wind at some point.

Note. In automatic meteorological observation, it refers to the average value of the 3-s wind direction at a certain moment.

3.4 Average wind direction

The angle of the wind direction, the average wind direction over a given period of time.

3.5 The most wind direction

When the wind direction is indicated by the bearing, the wind direction with the highest frequency occurs in a given period of time.

3.6 Extreme wind direction

Instantaneous wind direction at high wind speed.
