1 Scope

This document specifies the general safety requirements for off-road type rotary telescopic forklifts (hereinafter referred to as "forklifts"): This type of forklift consists of a lower chassis

This document does not apply to the following:

a) Off-road type telescopic forklift (non-rotating), see ISO 10896-1;

b) For industrial telehandlers, see ISO 3691-2;

c) mobile cranes;

d) machinery designed primarily for earthmoving operations (e:g: loaders), even if their buckets are replaced by forks (see ISO 20474);

e) Designed to be mainly carried by variable-length lifting suspension components (such as chains, wire ropes), and the load can swing freely in all directions vehicle;

The significant hazards covered by this document are listed in Appendix A: This document does not address the hazards that may occur in the following situations:
