Scope

GB/T 3519-2023 is the English-translated version of 微晶石墨.

GB/T 3519-2023 is the Chinese national standard for cryptocrystalline graphite, the microcrystalline or amorphous graphite mined in China.

It gives the classification and the designation, the technical requirements - the fixed carbon, ash, moisture and volatile matter that define each grade, and the particle size - the test methods, the inspection rules and the provisions on marking, packaging, transport and storage.

It applies to natural microcrystalline graphite ore and to the products made from it. Mines, processors and the refractory, battery and foundry works that buy the graphite use it.

It replaces GB/T 3519-2008, was issued on 27 November 2023 and has applied since 1 June 2024.

Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1. Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting.

This document replaces GB/T 3519-2008 "Microcrystalline Graphite". Compared with GB/T 3519-2008, except for structural adjustments and editorial changes In addition, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) Changed the "scope" (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the:2008 edition);

b) Added normative reference documents GB/T 19077 (see 6.3), GB/T 6682 (see 6.4.2.1), GB/T 8170 (see 6.4.6),

JC/T 2571 (see 6.5), GB/T 6679 (see 7.3.1);

c) Changed the definition of the term "microcrystalline graphite" and added the term and definition of "graphitization degree" (see Chapter 3, Chapter 3 of the:2008 edition chapter);

d) Changed "Classification and Labeling" (see Chapter 4, Chapter 4 of the:2008 edition);

e) Changed the "Requirements" (see Chapter 5, Chapter 5 of the:2008 edition);

f) Changed the "test method" (see Chapter 6, Chapter 6 of the:2008 edition);

g) The "inspection rules" have been changed (see Chapter 7, Chapter 7 of the:2008 edition);

h) "Packaging, marking, transportation and storage" has been changed (see Chapter 8, Chapter 8 of the:2008 edition).

1 Scope

This document specifies the classification and labeling, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of microcrystalline graphite.

This document applies to natural microcrystalline graphite raw ore and microcrystalline graphite products.

2 Normative reference documents

The contents of the following documents constitute essential provisions of this document through normative references in the text. Among them, the dated quotations For undated referenced documents, only the version corresponding to that date applies to this document; for undated referenced documents, the latest version (including all amendments) applies to this document.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Microcrystalline graphite

An aggregate composed of natural graphite crystals with a particle size less than 1 µm.

Note: Microcrystalline graphite is also called earthy graphite, amorphous graphite or cryptocrystalline graphite. It is gray black or steel gray in color, has metallic luster, has a slippery feel, and is easy to stain hands. It is usually graphitized. The degree is greater than 55.0%.

3.2 Graphitization degree

It measures the perfection of the graphite crystal structure and is an index indicating the regularity of the arrangement of carbon atoms in the graphite structure.

4 Classification and labeling

4.1 Classification

Microcrystalline graphite is divided into microcrystalline graphite mineral products and microcrystalline graphite products according to the processing process. Microcrystalline graphite products are classified into high purity based on fixed carbon content There are four categories. microcrystalline graphite, high carbon microcrystalline graphite, medium carbon microcrystalline graphite, and low carbon microcrystalline graphite. Its fixed carbon content and classification code are shown in Table 1. END. Draft Version (GB/T 3519-2023)
