GB/T 35169-2017 is the English-translated version of 建筑外墙外保温系统耐候性试验方法.
GB/T 35169-2017 fixes the weathering test for external thermal insulation composite systems on building walls.
Clause 1 states that the standard specifies the terms and definitions, the principle, the test equipment, the samples, the test procedure, the inspection and testing and the test report for that weathering test, and that it applies to external wall insulation systems.
The principle clause explains that a large-scale sample consistent with external insulation construction practice is used, that a weatherability test device simulates changes in environmental conditions, and that after a set number of cycles the degree of destruction of the protective layer is assessed by observing changes on the surface of the specimen, while the tensile bond strength of the protective sheath and of the insulation material is tested to judge the system's ability to resist environmental damage.
The terms clause carries five definitions, among them the weatherability of an external thermal insulation composite system, understood as resistance to the damage of hot-rain and hot-cold cycles reproduced on a specimen in the laboratory, the test specimen itself, made up of a base wall, fixing materials, insulation materials and protective materials assembled as the system would be built, the finish coat, which decorates and protects the system, and the protective layer, as the general term for plastering and finishing.
Clause 2 cites GB/T 4132 on insulation materials and related terms and JGJ 110 on the adhesion strength test for architectural decorative tiles, and the terms clause also takes over the definitions of GB/T 4132.

3.1 Exterior wall insulation system

4 Principle
