Scope
GB/T 35168-2017 is the English-translated version of 水泥工业用辊压机.
China's national standard for roller presses in cement production. It specifies the terms and definitions, the models and basic parameters, the requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the marking, packaging, transport and storage. A roller press works by a different principle from any mill: material is drawn between two counter-rotating rolls and subjected to very high pressure as a compacted bed, so the particles break against each other rather than against the equipment. That is the most energy-efficient way known to reduce a brittle material, because almost all the energy goes into the particle bed. The slab that emerges is riddled with cracks, and a modest amount of further grinding then liberates the fines. Roller presses are therefore usually installed ahead of a ball mill rather than instead of one, taking the coarse reduction and leaving the mill to finish - which is why they were adopted so widely as retrofits, and why the standard treats the press as a machine in its own right.

1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions of the cement industry with roller press (hereinafter referred to as "roller press"), model and basic parameters, requirements, test Methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, shipping and storage. This standard applies to the cement industry with roller press. Other industries with roller press can refer to the implementation.
