GB/T 35052-2018 sets out how to determine the magnetite, or magnetic material, content of the dense medium suspension used in the dense medium cyclones of coal preparation plants.
The content is defined as the mass share of magnetic material in the solids finer than the lower separation limit of the cyclone, expressed as a percentage. The standard lists the equipment needed: an electronic balance, a forced-air drying oven, a set of test sieves from 1 mm down to 0.1 mm and a magnetic content analyser meeting GB/T 18711-2002.
It then covers sampling during normal production at the points given in MT/T 808, with regular subsamples collected over at least two hours, and sample preparation.
Coal preparation plants use it to monitor their dense medium. It was issued on 14 May 2018 and has applied since 1 September 2018.

1 Scope
This standard specifies the method for determining the content of magnetic substances in the suspension of heavy medium cyclone in coal preparation plant.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Magnetic content
In the heavy medium suspension of the coal preparation plant, the mass of the magnetic substance in the solid whose particle size is smaller than the lower limit of the measurement of the heavy medium cyclone accounts for the solid mass. Percentage, expressed in %.
4 Instruments, equipment
4.1 Electronic balance. The maximum weighing is 1000g, and the sensitivity is 0.01g.
4.2 Air drying oven. with automatic temperature control device and blower, 0 °C ~ 300 °C, temperature adjustable.
4.3 Test sieve. Standard sieve, sieve size is 1mm, 0.5mm, 0.25mm, 0.125mm, 0.1mm.
4.4 Magnetic content analyzer. It should meet the requirements of 7.2 of GB/T 18711-2002.
5 Sampling and sample preparation
5.1 Sampling
5.1.1 The sample shall be taken during normal production at the coal preparation plant.
5.1.2 The heavy medium suspension is taken at its corresponding sampling point as specified in MT/T 808.
5.1.3 Take the 1L~2L subsample at the same time interval with the normal production time of not less than 2h as the limit The volume of the sample is greater than 10L.
