Introduction
Non-metallic materials are widely used in various components and equipment in the petroleum, petrochemical, and natural gas industries. The aging and degradation of non-metallic materials can lead to this could lead to equipment failure and damage, posing risks to public health, personnel safety, and the environment. To regulate the use of non-metallic materials in oil and gas extraction-related media...
The selection and performance evaluation of non-metallic materials were carried out, and GB/T 34903 "Petroleum, Petrochemical and Natural Gas Industries and Oil and Gas Extraction Related Media Contact" was formulated.
This is part of the "Metallic Materials" series of documents. GB/T 34903 will cover common categories of non-metallic materials used in the oil and gas industry (such as thermoplastics, elastic materials, etc.).
(Contains thermosetting resins and fiber-reinforced composite materials), which helps prevent major equipment failures caused by the aging and degradation of non-metallic materials.
This will benefit all stakeholders across the entire industry chain, including equipment operators, material and equipment manufacturers, design firms, and industry regulators.
GB/T 34903 specifies the general principles for stability assessment of non-metallic materials used in oil and gas exploration and development equipment.
Rules, technical requirements, and methods. Based on the types of non-metallic materials used in the oil and gas industry, such as thermoplastics, elastomers, and thermosetting resins.
Resin and fiber reinforced composite materials, GB/T 34903, are proposed to consist of four parts.
---Part 1: Thermoplastics. The purpose is to specify the relevance of thermoplastics in oil and gas production equipment.
General principles, technical requirements, and methods for energy stability assessment.
---Part 2: Elastomers. The purpose is to specify the selection and evaluation of elastomer materials used in oil and gas production equipment.
The general principles, basic requirements, and evaluation methods of pricing.
---Part 3: Thermosetting Resins. The aim is to specify thermosetting resin materials used in oil and gas production equipment.
