GB/T 34554-2017 gives the method for testing the reliability of the bonded structure of a building glass curtain wall.

Clause 1 states that the standard specifies terms and definitions, the test principle, test conditions, equipment, preparation, test pieces, the test procedure and the test report, that it applies to the in-situ reliability testing of the adhesive structure of existing hidden frame and semi-hidden frame glass curtain walls, and that it does not apply to the in-situ reliability testing of glass curtain walls that use mechanical connections.

The directory runs from clause 4, "test principle", through clause 5, "test conditions", split into data preparation and test preparation, clause 6, "equipment", split into equipment requirements and equipment installation, clause 7, "test pieces", clause 8, "Test Procedure", and clause 9, "Test Report", and closes with an informative Appendix A giving the form of the test report.

Clause 8 is divided into the determination of the initial stiffness modulus of silicone structural sealants, the calculation of the test displacement limit of the silicone structural sealant, the calculation of the point load / displacement coefficient of the glass curtain wall, and separate reliability test methods for the bonded structure of monolithic glass curtain walls and of hollow glass curtain walls.

Clause 3 takes its terms from GB/T 11944 and GB/T 14682 and adds four of its own: the glass curtain wall adhesive structure, meaning the structure formed by bonding the panel glass of a hidden frame or semi-hidden frame curtain wall to its metal frame; the point load, a vertical load locally concentrated on the curtain glass panel; the test displacement limit; and the selected point load, chosen from field tests as the load at which a sound bonded structure and a failed one show a clearly different displacement.

Clause 2 cites GB/T 11944, GB/T 14682, GB/T 19155, JGJ 80 and JGJ 102, and lists three further documents, on statistical tolerance intervals, structural silicone sealants for building and hollow glass elastic sealants, whose numbers the draft does not print.

The standard carries ICS 91.060.10 and Chinese classification P32, was proposed by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China and is kept by the National Building Curtain wall Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC448). It was issued on 14 October 2017 and has applied since 1 September 2018.
