Scope
GB/T 34230-2017 is the English-translated version of 煤和煤矸石淋溶试验方法.
This standard sets the leaching test for coal and coal refuse. Clause 1 states that it specifies the terms and definitions, the method summary, the sample processing, the leaching, the determination of the leaching solution and the test report, and that it applies to coal and gangue.
The introduction explains that leaching with water moves and transforms harmful elements in coal and gangue and pollutes the environment, that the test is meant to simulate the natural water leaching conditions, and that what is measured is the pH of the leachate and the concentrations of mercury, arsenic, fluorine, copper, nickel, zinc, lead, cadmium and chromium in it, Appendix A being used to judge the leaching toxicity and so to assess the environmental impact of the material.
Clause 3 defines leaching, the passage of soluble components from the solid phase into the liquid phase by dissolution, hydration, hydrolysis, carbonation and the like, and leaching toxicity, the hazardous property by which those same nine elements migrate and pollute when the material meets water.
Clause 4, method summary, describes the test: a coal or gangue sample of given mass and particle size is mixed with the leaching agent in a sealed leaching vessel, tumbled and stirred at a set speed for a set time, left to stand, filtered through slow filter paper, and the pH and the nine element concentrations are then measured.
The contents list the remaining clauses as 5 sample processing, 6 leaching, 7 leaching solution determination and 8 test report, followed by the informative Appendix A on the identification of coal and coal gangue leaching toxicity and by a list of references.
The draft breaks off at the end of clause 4, so the sample handling, the leaching procedure and the measurement steps themselves are not shown.
It was proposed by the China Coal Industry Association, is administered by the National Coal Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC42) and was drafted by the testing branch of Coal Science and Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. It was issued on 2017-09-07 and has applied since 2018-04-01.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
Introduction
Coal and coal gangue leaching with water, in which harmful elements such as mercury, arsenic, fluorine, copper, nickel, zinc, lead, cadmium and chromium migration and transformation, polluting the environment. This standard In order to simulate the water leaching conditions of coal and coal gangue under natural conditions, water and coal gangue leaching tests were carried out to determine the pH of the leachate Value and the concentration of mercury, arsenic, fluorine, copper, nickel, zinc, lead, cadmium and chromium therein. According to the provisions of this standard leaching solution and leaching solution test results, reference Appendix A to determine the leaching toxicity of coal and coal gangue in order to make a scientific assessment of the environmental impact of coal and coal gangue and take reasonable treatment Measures.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions leaching test of coal and coal gangue, method summary, sample processing, leaching, leaching solution determination and test report.
This standard applies to coal and gangue.

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Leaching
Coal and coal gangue soluble components dissolved, hydration, hydrolysis, carbonation, etc., from the solid phase into the liquid phase process.
3.2 Leaching toxicity
Coal and gangue encounter water leaching, the leaching of harmful elements such as mercury, arsenic, fluorine, copper, nickel, zinc, lead, cadmium and chromium migration and transformation, pollution of the environment, this Hazardous properties are known as leaching toxicity.
4 Method summary
A certain quality and granularity of coal or gangue samples mixed with leaching agent into a sealed leaching vessel, at a certain speed of the flip After stirring for a certain period of time, the mixer is left to stand, filtered through a slow filter paper, and the pH value of the leachate and the mercury, arsenic, fluorine, copper, nickel, zinc, lead, Cadmium and chromium concentrations.
