This standard is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This standard uses the translation method to use the international standard ISO 14046..2014 "Principles, requirements and guidelines for environmental management of water footprint".

This standard is proposed by the National Environmental Management Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC207).

The water footprint assessment carried out in accordance with this standard may be used as an independent evaluation involving only the environmental impact of water, and may also be used as a life cycle

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Types of water and classification related terms

3.1.1

Freshwater

Soluble solids are low in water.

Note 1. In general, the concentration of dissolved solids in fresh water is less than 1000 mg/L, and is usually suitable for use and conventional treatment to produce drinking water.

Note 2. Total dissolved solids concentration can vary significantly with space and/or time.

3.1.2

Brackish water

Soluble solids concentrations lower than seawater (3.1.4), but higher than municipal, household and irrigation water standards.

Note 1. The total dissolved solids concentration in brackish water is usually between 1000 mg/L and 30000 mg/L.

Note 2. The total dissolved solids concentration of most brackish water can vary significantly with space and/or time.

Surface water

Surface runoff and stored water, such as rivers and lakes, excluding seawater (3.1.4).

3.1.4

Seawater seawater

The water in the ocean.

Note. The dissolved solids concentration of seawater is greater than or equal to 30000mg/L.
