Scope

GB/T 33847-2017 is the English-translated version of 信息技术 中间件术语.

GB/T 33847-2017 is the Chinese national vocabulary for middleware in information technology.

It defines middleware itself as the support software that sits inside the system software, carries distributed application software and connects different software entities, and it then names the kinds: transaction processing middleware, procedural middleware, message-oriented middleware, communication middleware, remote procedure call middleware, object middleware and peer-to-peer middleware.

It closes with the application server, the software that provides the runtime and the access interfaces for server side applications, and it records the second name in use for several of these terms.

The standard is written for the exchange of information about middleware at home and abroad and for research, teaching and publishing. It was issued on 31 May 2017 and has applied since 1 December 2017.

Transaction middleware transactionservermiddleware Used to implement transactional communication, execution, coordination and management of middleware.

2.3 Procedural middleware

The use of remote process call technology for network communication software.

2.4 Message middleware

Through the queue and messaging mechanisms to support distributed systems to achieve messaging and integration of software.

2.5 Communication middleware

Software for providing data communication services between distributed application systems.

2.6 Remote procedure call middleware

In the client server computing mode, the realization of distributed applications between the use of request-response synchronization mode of communication software.

2.7 Object middleware

In the multi-tier client-server mode, the realization of object-oriented distributed applications software.

Note: The representative technology architecture for object middleware includes CORBA, JavaEE, and .NET.
