Scope

GB/T 33674-2017 is the English-translated version of 气象数据集核心元数据.

GB/T 33674-2017 fixes the way a meteorological dataset is described and the core metadata it has to carry.

It sets out the metadata description mode, giving for each element the Chinese name, the English name, the short name, the definition, the constraints and conditions, the maximum number of occurrences, the data type and the domain, and then the core metadata content itself.

Identification, content, distribution, data quality, data representation, reference and restriction information for the dataset are all covered. A normative annex holds the core metadata dictionary and an informative annex the code tables.

Clause 3 defines dataset, metadata, metadata element, metadata entity, core metadata and class. It applies to the collection, management, compilation, service and exchange of metadata and cites GB/T 4880.2 and ISO 19111. Issued on 12 May 2017, it has applied since 1 December 2017.
