Scope
GB/T 33540.3-2017 is the English-translated version of 风力发电机组专用润滑剂 第3部分:变速箱齿轮油.
GB/T 33540.3-2017 is Part 3 of GB/T 33540 and covers the gear oils used in wind turbines, made from a synthetic base oil with functional additives.
It sets the product variety and identification, the requirements and test methods, the inspection rules and the marking, packaging, transport and storage, and it divides the oil into the three viscosity grades 150, 220 and 320 according to GB/T 3141.
It applies to the oil used in the gear transmission of a wind turbine - main gearbox, yaw gearbox and pitch gearbox - and the product it covers is meant for gearboxes working at low temperature.
The exit-factory batch checks are kinematic viscosity, viscosity index, apparent viscosity at -30 °C, pour point, foaming, moisture, copper strip corrosion and cleanliness. It was issued on 9 March 2017 and has applied since 1 October 2017.

Foreword
GB/T 33540 "Lubricants for wind turbine" is divided into 4 parts.
- Part 1: Bearing grease;
- Part 2: Open gear greases;
- Part 3: Gear oils;
- Part 4: Hydraulic oils.
This part is part 3 of GB/T 33540.
This part was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This part of GB/T 33540 specifies the product variety and identification, requirements and test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of the wind turbine generator gear oil which uses the synthetic oil as the base oil AND added a variety of functional additives.
This part is applicable to the gear oil used in the wind turbine gear transmission system, which is composed of the main gearbox, yaw gearbox, and variable pitch gearbox.
The product covered in this part is particularly suitable for the lubrication of the low temperature wind turbine gearbox.
