Scope
GB/T 33284-2016 is the English-translated version of 室内装饰装修材料 门、窗用未增塑聚氯乙烯(PVC-U)型材有害物质限量.
GB/T 33284-2016 specifies the requirements for the limit of heavy metal, vinyl chloride monomer and bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate in unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) profiles for the doors and windows, which it abbreviates to profiles, together with the test methods and the inspection rules.
Clause 1 states that it applies to PVC-U profiles for doors and windows made with polyvinyl chloride resin as the main raw material and with appropriate additives and auxiliary materials added.
Clause 2 cites GB/T 4615-2013, GB/T 8814, GB/T 26125-2011 and GB/T 29786-2013, and clause 3 adopts the terms defined in GB/T 8814 and adds its own, which the preview does not print.
The preview passes over clause 4 Requirements and the heading of the first subclause of clause 5 and resumes in an unlabelled block on sampling: white profiles and full-body colour profiles are sampled directly from the profiles, colour profiles, including co-extrusion, painting and laminating colour profiles, are cut from the visible surface perpendicular to that surface, with the coating surface and the basis materials sampled and tested separately where necessary, and the sample is made 2 mm by 2 mm or smaller and mixed well.
The subclauses that follow refer the determination of lead, cadmium, mercury and hexavalent chromium content to GB/T 26125-2011, the determination of vinyl chloride monomer content to GB/T 4615-2013 and the determination of phthalate content to GB/T 29786-2013.
Clause 6 Inspection rules requires type inspection on all the items specified in clause 4 at least once a year under normal production conditions, and also when a new product is trial-produced and finalized, when there are major changes in the production process or its raw materials, and when production resumes after a long-term suspension; the product is determined as conforming only when the results of all items meet the standard, and as nonconforming if any one does not.
The contents list seven headings only: Foreword, Scope, Normative references, Terms and definitions, Requirements, Test methods and Inspection rules. The page files the standard under ICS 83.140 and Chinese classification G 33, and the frontispiece states that it was issued on 13 December 2016 and has applied since 1 July 2017.

1 Scope
This Standard specifies the requirements for the limit of heavy metal, vinyl chloride monomer and bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate, test methods, and inspection rules for unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) profiles for the doors and windows (hereinafter referred to as profiles).
This Standard is applicable to unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) profiles for the doors and windows made with polyvinyl chloride resin as the main raw material and adding appropriate additives and auxiliary materials.
2 Normative references
The following documents are indispensable for the application of this document.
For the dated references, only the editions with the dates indicated are applicable to this document. For the undated references, the latest edition (including all the amendments) are applicable to this document.
GB/T 4615-2013 Poly (vinyl chloride) - Determination of residual vinyl chloride monomer - Gas-chromatographic method
GB/T 8814 Unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) profiles for the doors and windows
GB/T 26125-2011 Electrical and electronic products - Determination of six regulated substances (lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls, polybrominated diphenyl ethers)
GB/T 29786-2013 Determination of phthalates in electrical and electronic equipment - Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry
3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 8814 and the following ones apply to this document.
5 Test methods
5.1 Sample
White profiles and full-body color profiles are directly sampled from the profiles.
For color profiles (including co-extrusion, painting, and laminating color profiles), cut from the visible surface perpendicular to the visible surface. If necessary, samples are taken from the coating surface and the basis materials and tested respectively.
MAKE the sample 2 mmx2 mm or smaller and mix well.
5.2 Determination of heavy metal limit
The determination of lead, cadmium, mercury and hexavalent chromium content is carried out according to GB/T 26125-2011.
5.3 Determination of vinyl chloride monomer content
TEST according to GB/T 4615-2013.
5.4 Determination of content of phthalate ester substances
The determination of phthalate content is carried out in accordance with GB/T 29786-2013.
6 Inspection rules
6.1 Type inspection
Type inspection items are all items specified in Clause 4 "Requirements". Under normal production conditions, type inspection shall be carried out at least once a year. If there is one of the following conditions, type inspection shall also be carried out:
- When the new product is trial-produced and finalized;
- When there are major changes in the production process and its raw materials;
- When production resumes after a long-term suspension of production.
6.2 Determination rule
When the inspection results of all items meet the requirements of this Standard, the product is determined as conformity. If there is an inspection result that does not meet the requirements of this Standard, the product is determined as nonconformity. […]
