Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document supersedes GB/T 33192-2016 "General Technical Conditions for Diesel Engines for Internal Combustion Vehicles" and is consistent with GB/T 33192-2016. Compared to previous versions, aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) Increased requirements for fire resistance and non-metallic materials in diesel engines (see

4.1.4 and 4.1.5);

b) Major technical specifications and parameters have been changed (see 4.2.1,

3.2.1 in the.2016 version);

c) Performance curves or technical parameter requirements have been changed (see 4.3,.2016 version 3.3);

d) The requirement to measure the highest burst pressure of each cylinder has been removed (see

3.4.3 in the.2016 version);

e) The requirements for unspecified dimensions and geometric tolerances of diesel engines have been removed (see

3.4.7 in the.2016 edition);

f) The standard for the diesel fuel used has been changed (see 4.5.1,

3.5.1 of the.2016 edition);

g) Added requirements for electronic fuel injection systems (see 4.5.2);

1 Scope

GB/T 33192-2026 is the Chinese national standard covering the diesel engine of a locomotive - the ratings and the duty cycle it works to, the fuel consumption and the emissions, the starting and load acceptance, the durability between overhauls and the tests before acceptance. It replaces GB/T 33192-2016 and has been in force since 1 March 2026, under the National Railway Administration. It was issued on 28 January 2026 and has been in force since 1 March 2026, replacing GB/T 33192-2016. This document specifies the technical requirements, test methods, and inspection rules for diesel engines used in railway locomotive traction (hereinafter referred to as "diesel engines"). Marking, packaging, transportation and storage. This document applies to diesel engines in newly manufactured internal combustion locomotives; other diesel engines in internal combustion engines should refer to this document for implementation.
