1 Scope
This standard specifies the sulfur hexafluoride tracer gas chromatographic method for ruminant methane emissions.

3 Principle of the method
The permeate tube containing sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) was put into the rumen of the ruminant, and the methane (CH4) and the permeate produced in the rumen

4 Reagents and Materials
Except for air, unless otherwise specified, high purity gases (99.999% purity) are used for gases other than air.

4.4 rumen fistula
ruminant rumen in the back of the hamst on the capsule, and the outside of the channel.
4.5 SF6 standard gas
should be the same as the main components of the sample to be tested, nitrogen is dilution gas.
4.6 CH4 standard gas
should be the same as the main components of the sample to be measured, nitrogen gas as dilution.

5.1 Gas chromatograph

Equipped with an electron capture detector (ECD) and a hydrogen flame ion detector (FID), ECD and FID both use 5A molecular sieve columns.
5.1.2 Column preparation and treatment
245µm ~ 198µm (60 mesh ~ 80 mesh) 5A molecular sieve into the outer diameter of 3mm stainless steel
Packed column, column length 3m. Filled with two ends of the column packed with quartz cotton, aging in the 250 °C environment 2h.
5.2 SF6 permeation tube
Refer to Appendix A for the preparation and use.
