Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".

Drafting.

This document replaces GB/T 32726-2016 "Soil Quality - Field Soil Description". Compared with GB/T 32726-2016, except for the structure...

Aside from adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

---Added "Terms and Definitions" (see Chapter 3);

---Added "Notes on Using This Document" (see Chapter 4);

---Added "Objectives and Methods of Soil Description" (see Chapter 5);

---Added descriptions of coarse anthropogenic materials and oil-water reactions in the soil (see 9.8, 9.12.5, 9.19, and 9.20);

---A new chapter on "Reports" has been added (see Chapter 11).

This document is modified to adopt ISO 25177:2019 "Soil quality, field description of soil".

The technical differences between this document and ISO 25177:2019, and the reasons therefor, are as follows.

---The normative references GB/T 2659.1, GB/T 2659.2, and GB/T 2659.3 have replaced ISO 3166-1, GB/T 2659.2, and GB/T 2659.3, respectively.

ISO 3166-2 and ISO 3166-3 (see 6.3); ISO 11074 (see 3) has been replaced by the normatively referenced GB/T 18834.

Chapter), replacing ISO 15903 (see 11.2) and ISO 28258 with the normatively referenced GB/T 32724 and GB/T 41224 respectively.

(See 5.3, 11.2) to adapt to my country's technological conditions and improve operability;

--- Five terms and definitions have been added. site, land, farmland, soil stratum, and groundwater depth, to facilitate better understanding of this document.

(See 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, and 3.6);

---The section "Documents that can be used in conjunction with this document" has been changed, and the "Technical Specification for Calibration of Soil Type Names from the Third National Soil Census" has been added.

Appendix 2 of the revised version is included to improve operability (see 4.2);

---The administrative divisions in section 6.3 have been modified to suit my country's national conditions (see section 6.3);

---The geographic coordinates have been changed to adopt the Chinese geographic coordinate system, and other coordinate systems in the original standard have been deleted (see 6.4);

---The coding for land use information has been changed, replacing it with GB/T 21010 China Land Use Status Code.

Classification and coding should be adopted to suit my country's national conditions (see 7.3);

---The unit for recording slope has been changed from % to degrees (°) to improve versatility (see 7.7);

---The aspect recording has been changed to use degrees (°) instead of 'a', making it simpler and easier to use (see 7.8);

---Added an explanation section to section 8.4 on erosion characteristics (see 8.4);

---The method for describing soil strata has been changed, replacing the FAO Soil Description Guidelines with the Third National Soil Description Guidelines.

The "Technical Specifications for Soil Survey Field Investigation and Sampling" (revised version) will be used to improve operability (see 9.3, 9.5);

---The method for describing soil color has been changed, replacing the other soil color card systems in 9.8.1 (Code 2) with the Chinese standard soil color card to better suit the requirements.

To improve versatility, the soil color description should be adapted to Chinese soil conditions (see 9.8.1);

---The particle size distribution has been changed. The last column of the particle size distribution in Figure 3, DSNR2017, has been replaced with the Chinese system classification.

Investigators compared the data (see 9.11.3);

---The general nomenclature for soil types has been changed to improve operability (see Chapter 10).

The following editorial changes have been made to this document.

---ISO 19156 has been replaced by GB/T 41448 (see 3.1), which is cited in the informational reference.

---In section 5.4, the overview-level description "see Chapter 5" is corrected to "see Chapter 6", and the site-level description "see Chapter 6" is corrected to "see..." Chapter 7;

---The description of rock outcrops in section 8.3, "0. >0%", is corrected to "None. 0%";

---In section 9.12.3, the description of the maximum particle size of coarse-grained components, "abundance of coarse-grained components," should be corrected to "maximum size of coarse-grained components." Particle size.
