GB/T 31270.5-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering whether a pesticide washes down through soil towards groundwater - the column test and the soils chosen, the rainfall simulated, and the distribution of the compound and its metabolites down the profile and in the leachate. Part 5 of the series, with Part 4 on adsorption. It replaces GB/T 31270.5-2014, in force from 1 May 2026. Issued on 31 October 2025, it has been in force since 1 May 2026, replacing GB/T 31270.5-2014.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 At the end of leaching, the distance of the deepest soil section where the amount of the test sample or aged residue is greater than or equal to 0.5% of the initial addition amount.

3.2 The distance from the bottom of the soil section to the top of the soil column where the cumulative recovery rate of the test substance reaches 50% of the total recovery rate in a conventional leaching test; or in the aging... In the residual leaching test, the distance from the bottom of the soil section to the top of the soil column where the cumulative recovery rate reached 50% of the total recovery rate, minus the aging residual soil layer, is taken as the distance.
