Scope
GB/T 32136-2015 is the English-translated version of 农业干旱等级.
GB/T 32136-2015 specifies the classification of agricultural drought and the method of calculating its indices. Clause 1 states that it applies to agricultural drought monitoring, early warning and assessment.
Clause 2 cites GB/T 20481, and clause 3 defines crop water requirement, the critical period of crop water requirement, the crop coefficient, the crop water stress index, the crop water deficit anomaly index, the soil relative humidity index, the farmland and crops drought morphological indexes, and agricultural drought itself as the imbalance between field water supply and demand that hinders normal crop growth during the growing season.
The contents list clause 4 classification and clause 5 Level Indicators, which covers the crop water deficit anomaly index, the soil humidity index, the farmland crops drought index form and the principle, followed by clause 6 Index Calculation Method and Scope, which treats each of the three indices in turn.
Five appendices follow: informative ones on the classification standard of soil texture, on reference crop coefficient (Kc) values for parts of the country and on the critical period of water requirement of the main crops, and normative ones on the calculation of crop coefficient (Kc) values and on the calculation of soil moisture and field capacity.
The introduction presents drought as the most serious of the natural disasters affecting agricultural production, seasonal, regional and persistent in character, and says the standard was drawn up to support drought relief work and to make agricultural drought classification comparable in space and time across the country.
The foreword says the standard was proposed by the China Meteorological Administration and is held by the National Standardization Technical Committee on Agricultural Meteorology (SAC/TC539).

Introduction

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Crop water requirement
