GB/T 31263-2014 is the English-translated version of Ku频段便携式卫星通信地球站通用技术要求.

GB/T 31263-2014 specifies, for the Ku-band portable satellite communication earth station, its composition, basic functions, performance characteristics, environmental adaptability, power supply requirements, safety and earthing requirements, electromagnetic compatibility, reliability and marking, together with the requirements for the packaging, transport and storage of the equipment.

Clause 1 limits its application to portable satellite communication earth stations that work in the Ku band and use satellites in geostationary orbit in the fixed service, and clause 1 abbreviates it to the mobile station.

Clause 3 covers composition: the equipment of a typical station generally consists of the antenna and feed device, the transmitter, the receiver, the channel equipment and the power equipment including the battery, while the subclause on structural form requires the design to take account of portability and of convenience in setting up, dismantling and transferring the station, and allows it to be built as a single unit or as several units.

Clause 4 sets out the basic functions the portable station is to support, beginning with satellite communication and two-way communication.

The standard was proposed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and is administered by the China Communications Standards Association. It was issued on 5 December 2014 and has applied since 1 April 2015.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the composition of the Ku-band portable satellite communication earth station (hereinafter referred to as the mobile station), the basic functionality, performance characteristics, ring Environmental adaptability, power requirements, safety, grounding requirements, electromagnetic compatibility, reliability flag, as well as equipment, packaging, transport and storage content.
