Scope

GB/T 31108-2014 is the English-translated version of 首饰镶嵌工艺信息分类与代码.

GB/T 31108-2014 specifies the classification and the codes of jewelry inlaid process information. Clause 1 states that it applies to the classification, processing and exchange of that information.

Clause 3, on the classification principles and methods for jewelry inlaid process information, requires the classification to follow the provisions of a cited standard on the basic principles and methods of information classification and coding and to be scientific, systematic, compatible and usable as a whole, and it then fixes two bases of classification, one by the inlay production process and one by the arrangement of the inlaid gems.

Clause 4 carries the classification and code of the inlay production process, with subclauses on its categories, the code structure, the coding method and the table of classification and codes, and clause 5 does the same for the arrangement of the gems.

Clause 4.1 applies a hierarchical classification into categories, classes and subclasses and lists more than a dozen setting processes, among them channel set, nail set and wax setting, while clause 4.2 describes a six-digit code split across the category, class and subclass levels and shown in Figure 1.

The foreword records that the standard was proposed by the China National Light Industry Council and is centralized by the National Standardization Technical Committee jewelry (SAC/TC256).

The draft published on the page breaks off inside clause 4, so clause 5 appears only in the table of contents. It was issued on 3 September 2014 and has applied since 1 August 2015.

3.1 Classification principles

According to the provisions of GB/T 7027, following the scientific, systematic, scalable ductility, compatibility and overall usability.

3.2 Classification

This standard is based on the following categories according to the classification.

a) classification by mosaic production process, such as Prong, nail set, etc;

b) Press gem mosaic arrangement of classification, such as a trapezoid, a single grain, and other close-packed.

4 Inlay production process and classification codes

4.1 Production process Mosaic classification

Production process is characterized by a mosaic jewelry, the use of hierarchical classification, successive into categories, classes, subclasses, three. Prong turn divided into categories, Package inserts, Channel Set, nail set, inlaid nest, boundless inlay, inlay combination, plug inserts, inserts wrong, wax setting, press inserts, shovel inlay, inlaid tiger's mouth, Australia and other inserts. In each category of According to the actual production process mosaic can be divided into successive classes, subclasses.

4.2 Code Structure

The code uses three six-digit code. The first, second and third categories represents the fourth and fifth class representation, the sixth bit indicates subcategories. generation Code structure shown in Figure 1.
