Scope

GB/T 30977-2014 is the English-translated version of 电梯对重和平衡重用空心导轨.

China's national standard for the hollow guide rails used by the counterweight and balancing weight of lifts. It specifies the types and parameters, the technical requirements, the testing, and the marking, packaging, transport and storage of these rails and of the fishplates that join them. It does not apply to hollow rails and fishplates used for a counterweight or balancing weight fitted with safety gear. A lift counterweight runs in its own pair of guide rails alongside the car, and those rails do a different job from the car rails. They do not have to arrest a falling mass, they do not carry a passenger, and they are not subject to the loads that safety gear operation imposes - so they are made as roll-formed hollow sections from sheet rather than as machined solid T-sections. That is a substantial saving in a component that runs the full height of the shaft in a building of any size, and it is why the product exists as a separate item with a standard of its own. The exclusion in the scope is the important sentence in the whole document: a counterweight fitted with safety gear - required where the space beneath the shaft is occupied - can be gripped and stopped by its rails, and a hollow roll-formed section is not the right component for that duty. Within its scope, the standard fixes the section types and dimensional parameters, the material and mechanical requirements, the straightness and twist that determine ride quality, the machining of the ends and the fishplate joints, and the testing by which all of it is verified. Issued on 24 July 2014 and in force since 1 December 2014.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the counterweight and elevator balance weight hollow common rail (hereinafter referred to as "rails") and the counterweight and elevator balance weight commonly used hollow guide Rail connector (hereinafter "connector") models and parameters, technical requirements, testing and marking, packaging, transportation and storage. This standard does not apply to elevator safety gear hollow rails and connectors on the weight and balance of reuse.
